The Hero's Journey – a roadmap to greater self-awareness – Gunnel Watkins

About the Presentation

In this presentation we will identify the stages of the ‘monomyth’ or ‘Hero's Journey’ as outlined by Joseph Campbell, reflecting on why it continues to be such an important narrative, often reaching beyond the culture of origin e.g., the Holy Grail stories, The Ring Cycle by Wagner and the epic Lord of the Rings.

We will explore through a transpersonal lens how we can apply the ‘hero's’ journey’ today as a guide for living where crisis and transitions can be viewed as opportunities to move forward to greater self – realisation.

About the Presenter

Gunnel Watkins is a Sculptor with a background in Transpersonal Art Therapy and Transformational Education. A new member of the Theosophical Society, she will facilitate a “Creative Alchemy” workshop later in the year, giving artists and non-artists an opportunity to explore their self-expression and creative being inside a transpersonal context.
