In this October 2015 presentation, Michael Gomes summarises the essence of the works of Helena Blavatsky, beginning with ‘Isis Unveiled’ which traces our spiritual heritage and contains the embryo of her later writings. After discussing the proof of the authenticity of The Mahatma Letters, he comments on ‘The Secret Doctrine’, the first esoteric book in English, and outlines the key messages in “The Key to Theosophy’ and ‘The Voice of the Silence’.
About the Presenter
Michael Gomes is a long-time student of Theosophy. Currently, Mr. Gomes is the head librarian at the Emily Sellon Memorial Library in New York City. Mr. Gomes is the editor of Theosophy in the Nineteenth Century: An Annotated Bibliography, and author of The Dawning of the Theosophical Movement. He is also a contributor to the Dictionary of Gnosis & Western Esotericism. Michael acquired his expertise in researching through archival material while an assistant to the late Charles James who represented 23 museums across the United States.
