The God of the Theologians and the God of the Mystics – Pedro Oliveira
About the Presentation
For centuries, Christian theology has been informed by an Aristotelian view in which God is seen as the Prime Mover, the personal creator of the universe and its ruler. Christian mystics challenged this structured view of the divine by conveying the understanding of God as a living presence in the uncreated depths of the human soul. This presentation will highlight the contrasts between these two views and also the role of mysticism in a world of fast disappearing spiritual meaning.
